New Breed Racing’s Weekend Ahead!
February 12, 2016

This weekend the New Breed Racing team has runners in two states and looks to collect another winner at the home of their new satellite stable, the Gold Coast.

First up is Va Va Veni who runs in race 6 at Canterbury on Friday night, drawing barrier 10 will be a challenge but Michael Costa believes the horses fitness has improved after his first up run. Koby Jennings will ride and will take 3kg off.

Michael could not have been happier with the work of Va Va Veni on Tuesday but does admit the horse has indicated he is looking for more ground, a definite each way proposition.

On Saturday Michael will saddle up Last Try Wins in the last race at the Gold Coast. New Breed Racing has set up a satellite stable and is looking to make it two winners in two weeks. Last Try Wins has a unique racing pattern, often to the eye looks like he is tailed off but he has a devastating finish and will be flying home late. Daniel Griffin will ride as he and NBR look to keep their 100% record in tact.

On Monday Michael will take a small team down to Queanbeyan where he looks to have some decent chances.

Authority Given is first cab off the rank in the benchmark 60 over the mile. Richard Bensley is booked to ride as the 4yo gelding looks to go one better on his last start. Fitness just got the better of him and he will be primed for this run.

In race 2 Michael saddles up two runners, Blackjak Paperback and Insanity. Blackjak Paperback has a tricky gate, drawing wide at Queanbeyan can sometimes prove a difficult task. He is still gaining fitness and may well improve with the run.

Insanity has drawn a wider gate than his stablemate, drawing 13 out of 15. A new acquisition to the NBR team, Insanity showed a much improved run at her first start for the new stable. Finishing third at Muswellbrook the 3yo filly has the job ahead from the shocking draw but indicated she is finding her best under the guidance of Michael Costa.
