The Past Week:

Court Victory was the solo winner for the Singleton stable last week when the six year-old gelding won the class 3 handicap at Queanbeyan last Monday. Sent out the $3.30 favourite, Richard Bensley took the gelding to the front early.

Richard was rating the gelding perfectly not going to quick or too slow, rounding the turn Bensley kicked up the tempo and shot away at the 200m mark.

That’s Freedom railed late but the Singleton trained Court Victory held on to win by a head on the line to record his fourth career win.

This took the stable to 18 wins for the current season.

The Week Ahead:

Singleton racing will be represented at their home track on Thursday with a number of runners. Scott believes his two best chances will be the last start Bathurst Cup runner-up Big On Fame, who will contest the benchmark 60 over 2000m. The Big Brown gelding ran a huge race in the Bathurst Cup, he was the outsider of the field and finished second to Set Piece. He drops back to benchmark 60 and stays at the 2000m, he will be running a race.

Our Consolation who was a runner-up at the last Hawkesbury meeting is edging closer to breaking his maiden tag. He should be nearing peak fitness as he will be third-up this prep and stays at the 1300m.

On Saturday Scott has nominated his two-year-old filly Alluvion for the Group 2 Sweet Embrace stakes at Randwick. Alluvion has had one start for a sixth placing in the listed Gimcrack stakes behind Calliope from the Godolphin stable. She has had two trials to get ready for her first-up assignment with the most recent a win at Hawkesbury.
